I used to live nearby and passed The Taco Shop often - it was along my jogging route. One day, on a whim, I went there to eat. What a find! I was born and raised in Southern California, and a hobby of mine was to find a little, independent "hole in the wall" that was only known by the locals but served great food. I've found it in Amsterdam! In fact, sitting at the window bar and eating my fantastic taco and burrito, if I closed my eyes I would have thought I was sitting at a sidewalk joint in a little beach town somewhere in SoCal instead of along the Amstel.
On the Google Map site someone titled his review of The Taco Shop "Site of Pilgrimage." I agree. 100%. Especially if you're a homesick American in Europe craving great, cheap Mexican food and the atmosphere of back home, this place is it.
